8th Week Update

Recently Mummy have been experiencing more of those pregnancy symptoms like nausea, burping, body temperature fluctuation, headache , bloated tummy and constipation. It was so bad till she has no appetite and couldn't sleep well at night due to the dramatic body temperature fluctuation. Though no appetite, she still managed to eat a proper dinner in order to make sure I don't go hungry. At the same time, Daddy is also worried about me not getting enough nutrients as Mummy is quite picky about her food.

We visited Dr Chan for the second time today. As usual, I am sharing my ultrasound scan image here. Dr Chan commented that I am quite tall as I measure 16.7cm now. She attributed this to my tall parents. Take a look at me now *blink blink*

A peek into the womb

Mummy and Daddy brought me to see our gynea, Dr Yvonne Chan yesterday. It was 9am in the morning and I was still sleepy. It was mummy's first visit and I could sense the anxiety and excitement as they waited.

Dr Chan explained the pregnancy chart and mentally prepared my parents on what to expect from the scan. Ideally, at 6 1/2 weeks, they might be able to see me and even hear my heart beats if they are lucky. However, there is also a chance of seeing nothing but the water bag as the foetus development may be slower than expected.


Now let me introduce myself. I am a 4 1/2 weeks foetus. Gynea says I am 6 1/2 weeks making reference to mummy's LMP(25 Nov 2008) making me 2 weeks older then i actually am. I am now 1.8cm in length with a tiny heart blinking when detected in the ultrasound machine. See my heart beat on the first scan on top. Click on the picture to enlarge the view.

Dr Chan also says i am located in the right place within womb and will see me in 2 weeks to ensure that i am growing fine. So happy :P

Detecting my existence

It was 27th Dec 2008, Sat. Mummy's menses was late and she has been feeling bloated and getting strange sensation in her tummy. Frequency of urination has also increased.

With all these symptoms on-going, Daddy was very curious and excited to get Mummy to take the pregnancy test. Pestering her since morning, they finally went to Junction 8 in the evening to make the purchase.

Back home, Mummy did the test and was pleasantly delighted by the positive result.
My Ah Gongs and Ah Mas are later informed about the news. This also mark the start of a series of research to look for a gyne for my health checkup and arrival.

Finally, they made an appt at TMC with Dr Yvonne Chan on 8 Jan 2008(Thur) 9am. I can sense mummy's excitement and anxiousness to make sure i am safe. She will definitely try her best to protect me.

With my presence, Daddy has became sweeter than before and showering more love to me and mummy. I can sense it.
