Fingers...Yummy?

Oh, those are fingers!!! I couldn't seem to control them properly... Humm... maybe i need more practices. Right now, i have learnt to grab Mummy and Daddy's clothes and sometime part of Mummy's hair too even though she has short hair now :p Mummy will then shout for daddy's help hehhee

Lately, i have also been drooling uncontrollably and it is getting very messy. Mummy and Daddy have to keep on wiping my saliva and stopping me from putting my fingers into my mouth. keke

Laughing and Giggling

I am now able to laugh/giggle aloud... kekeke ... Daddy n Mummy are simply trying all means to make me do that... ho ho ho... whoever is funnier gets my million-watts smile and thousand-db laughter... wahahahha

My first Christmas stunt

I have acquired a new skill and eagerly showed Mummy this morning. I've learnt to stick out my tongue like this :p Mummy was very surprise and prompted me to do more to show it to Daddy. Later in the evening, we have dinner with Aunty Jayne & family, Grandpa & Grandma at Holland V Coffee shop. The food seems really nice but too bad i can't have any now.

This Christmas is special. It's my first and am pleasantly delighted to receive Christmas gifts from friends and relatives. Thank you, Aunties & Uncles & Grandma & Grandpa and my Daddy Mummy. Love ya!

Hello Rattle Yummy Teether

Yippee, I am now able to hold my rattle and teether myself. However, i do get frustrated when i cant seem to place the teether into my mouth properly. Teething is uncomfortable and makes me do silly things like chewing my own tongue and everything that comes in contact with my mouth. That amounts to a whole long list of items such as mummy and daddy's clothes, Aunty Jayne and Grandma Sharon's arms, pillows, blankets, my right hand, chew chew chew.... yum yum...

And i can also hold my head up during tummy time... Hopefully, i will succeed rolling over soon... Wish me luck!!!

Wailing at Takashimaya

We went to Royal Copenhagen, Takashimaya for the first time. Initially, i was fine smiling and yakking away with Mummy, Daddy and terrorizing anyone who walked past or look at me.

Halfway through the 4 course lunch, i started feeling uncomfortable. Daddy thought i need a diaper change. Who knows i started wailing after uncontrollably after that. Mummy tried all mean to sooth me patting, feeding and walking around. Nothing seems to work. I was out of control creating a scene at the nursery. A nice aunty working at Takashimaya offered to help so i let her thinking she is more experienced. It didn't matter, i continued.

Eventually, i was tired and quiet down. Mummy continue to pat my back and i fell asleep. We went home straight after. i'm feeling quite guilty for making mummy panicked back there. It was my first and hopefully the last. Sorry, mummy. Muack!! Muack!! Please forgive me. *smile sweetly* I'm sure she had forgiven me.

My first illness

Went to see the doctor today. It was a quick 5 mins consultation but it costs daddy $95. 2 bottle of red syrups for cough and runny nose, 1 tube of cream for the ringworms on my left arm :(

I don't like the red syrup so whenever i was fed, i will spit all out. Needless to say, i cried, screamed and protested to avoid medication. I know its for my good but it simply taste bad. Someone should really look into making the medicine taste better.

Nursery Encounters

Incident 1: Nursery Bully
Mummy and I were shopping at IMM. Halfway through, i felt hungry and Mummy brought me to the nursery room. It was off-peak, there was no one around using or queuing for the nursery and absolutely no one at sight.

After a while, probably 3-5 mins, someone tried to open the door. Mummy prompted that we were using the room and continued b.feeding. A minute later, another attempt to open the door was heard. Again, Mummy responded. This time replying to the woman outside that we need to use the room for 10 mins. Mummy was trying to be nice by letting her have an estimate timeline and was prepare to stop me from feeding if i'm taking too long. However, she sounded annoyed and grumble aloud "Why need so long? My baby also don't need to feed so long". Mummy was extremely patient and told her that i'm on b.feeding and was unable to rush me through it. Then came an unexpected rude reply saying that Mummy was selfish, taking so long to feed and preventing others from feeding. Mummy was triggered and told the woman there are other rooms around, 2 located at level 1 so she could go there if she doesn't want to wait. That woman then go ahead to display her b*tch nature and started calling Mummy names instead. Mummy was irritated by the rude exchanges and shooed her away as she doesn't want to waste energy quarreling. Wished Daddy was there and we don't have to be harassed in such manner.

Incident 2: Rude Couple
We using the parents' room at ION. Mummy just fed me for 5 minutes and someone knocked. Daddy responded and no one answered. Seconds later, an attempt was made. This time, Daddy opened the door. He saw a cleaner and a couple with 2 kids told daddy that the couple needs to use the room and gave him a funny look. As if he shouldn't be there and misusing the room. Daddy have to convince her by pointing at our pram. Immediately, the mother of 2 defended that they didn't knock. Yes, they didn't physically but obviously, they instigated the cleaner to. Otherwise, why would a cleaner knock when it was not time for cleaning and the room's occupied

Why are these parents so rude? Where are the basic courtesy? Don't they know how to find another room if one is occupied? For goodness, most malls i have been to have more than one nursery in them. Can one limit another on the use of the nursery?

It's disturbing to know that some people simply rude and demanding. Hope someone will enlighten them - When a room is occupied, it is taken and in use. Look for another room or wait till others are done.

Dip in the Pool

Daddy & Mummy bought me a swim suit recently and guess what it came with accident protection in case i "putt putt" during my swim. The salesgirl told them that the suit was meant for 12-18 month but somehow i was able to fit in nicely even though i am just 12 weeks.

We went to Safra(Jurong) and its baby pool was fantastic. The height of the pool was just nice for me and i was able to touch the floor of the pool. With a float around my neck, i was on my way kicking and exploring within my parents closed radar of cos.

After swimming for 20 mins, i got mischievous. Guess what i did ;P ... I tested the accident mechanism of my little orange suit. I putt putt and the suit passed the test!! It successfully contained the shit in me and got me so dirty all over... ewwww... Luckily, a shower was all i need and a rinse for the suit. Phew!!

Still, i like swimming and would love to go again soon.

My first Trip - Genting & KL

Daddy & Mummy brought me to Malaysia on 01 Nov 2009(Sunday). I was 2.5 month old and very excited about my first overseas trip. It was a chance for me to prove that my ability for travel. Deep within, I knew i had to behave otherwise it will be difficult for me to go abroad next time.

It was a 3D2N Genting-KL road trip with my parents, great-grandma and uncle(Mummy's brother). We spent the first night in First World Hotel-WorldClub Room,Genting and subsequently Novotel-Suite, KL.

To me, both places were equally boring as i couldn't go to the outdoor theme park in Genting Highlands and it rained the night while we were in KL. Frankly, the most exciting part of my trip was the shopping of my diapers kekeke.... :P.. We bought 5 packets of Mammy Poko 78's and best of all, we were lucky as it was on promotion.

On the way back, we visited an organic farm and brought fruits from Ayer Hitam. Yummy... Red Dragon Fruits and Large Mangoes... Sweet!!!

uuuhh ooohhh ahhhhhhh

I am 7 weeks 2 days old and have just started communicating with Mummy and Daddy with all the 'ooh's,'uuh's and 'ahhh's. Listening to conversations around me have become a highlight in my life recently. Other than vocal and hearing development, my neck is becoming stronger and i am able to follow objects as they move within my field of vision. Hopefully i will be able to flip, raise my head upright and better yet crawl then i will be able to crawl to Mummy whenever she is.

My First Staycation

My parent brought me for a hotel stay last weekend. It was the first time i stayed out for the night. Our room had a living area and a bedroom attached and definitely i spent a long long time inspecting it.

After all the familiarization, i was tired and fall asleep on the super fluffy bed. Not long, my cot arrived(with a toy and pigeon bath set) and i was transferred. :( Wanting to return, i let out a loud cry and sure enough, Mummy put me on the bed again. Cheers to my victory. Wahhaha

And i also tried bathing in the bath tub kekeke...Too bad i cant go swimming now else i will be able to use the swimming pool.

Here's me in my super duper bed... Comfyyyyyyyy.....

1st month Immunisation

Mummy brought me to the polyclinic yesterday for the 2nd Hep-B injection@1 month.
We reached at around 11.50am and was told to return at 1.30pm. When we returned, another lady told Mummy that babies have priority to see the doctor. Within the next min, our Q-number was called. We registered and went to the waiting area outside the nurse room.

Our turn came, Mummy was briefed by the staff nurse on the follow-up and immunization package to be decided@3 month. 3 options were available mainly the normal free package+Hep B($20), 5in1 injection package and the 6in1 injection package. The 5in1 and 6in1 package are quite similar except the latter have one visit less @ 6 month and cost slighty more. Both packages includes the 3rd dose HepB and Hib injection while the standard package don't.

Now here comes the actual injection, the staff nurse tried to wake me up but i am just too sleepy to adhere. In the end, she injected my right tight while i was asleep. The needle was 4-5cm long and you could imagine the pain i took. My face turned entirely red, tears gathering in my eyes and i let out a loud cry. Mummy was feeling the pinch too, she was making the 'sssssss' sound unknowingly during the injection.

Immediately after the needle was withdrawn, Mummy held me tightly to sooth me. What an experience and there's few more to come. The next will be when i am 3 months old.

One month old

Yeah, I am one month old!!! I can go gai gai officially :p

Before that, there's a tradition which many babies go through at this age. The haircut ceremony. Some babies are shave bald regardless of gender but for me, i have the protection from my parent and won't be shaved. Thank goodness. So my great grandmother could only cut a tiny bit of my hair... hehhehe...

*Fyi, she shaved my 3 cousins bald during their 1st month and was eyeing to cut mine...

Phew! What a close shave!!! literally ...

Hello World

I have finally came to see the real world on the 18 August 2009. Mummy had a hard time bring me safely to meet all our family friends and relatives.

Mummy's birth story 18 August 2009
----------------------------------
6.30am Wash up and prepare to head for TMC
6.50am Bought a Fillet-O-Fish set meal from AMK McDonalds. Mummy grab two bite even though Dr Chan says cannot eat anything
7.05am Reach TMC delivery room. Nurse put mummy on drip to trigger contraction and showed Mummy how to use gas as a contraction pain relieve.
8.00am Dr Chan came to check on me and broke the water bag while i am still in it. gosh!!
12 noon Dilation was 2cm and Dr Chan tried to stretch the cervix which was painful.
3.30pm Now dilation was 4cm and Dr Chan was saying mummy got good endurance for pain which unfortunately did not last long. She also mentioned that mummy dilation was slow and ask mummy to relax and not fight the contraction. Of cos, Mummy did not understand a word about fighting contraction pain as she was just laying there enduring the pain. As in how could she fight the pain and cause slow dilation.. Humm something to ponder ... Dr Chan then briefly hinted mummy to take epidural so that it could help her relax and help with the dilation. Before mummy could make a decision on epidural, she left.
4.10pm Mummy continue to endure for a while and finally could no longer take the pain and requested for epidural. The relieve came an hour later and was administer within the next 20 mins. It was an absolute relieve for mummy when epidural took all the pain away. She was able to relax and seriously hoping the dilation to progress faster and delivery to end asap.
7.00pm Dilation did not progress further even with epidural as a relaxant. Mummy knew that the worst is to come. Dr Chan told mummy and daddy that they have to go for emergency c-section if situation remains unchanged in the next hour. She also warned that there were indications I may go into distress soon as my heart beat drops whenever there is a contraction in the baby monitor. Mummy was terrified and tears were beginning to form on the edge of her eyes. Mummy was worried about my well being and petrified by the thought of having a c-section. It would be the first surgery in her life. As soon as Dr Chan left, Mummy broke down in tears and Daddy was there to comfort her and assure her that he will be there even in the surgery room.
8.00pm Surgery started and more epidural was administer to numb the lower half of the body. Daddy came into the surgery room dressed in the surgery robe and cap provided.
Shortly, i was born and daddy accompanied me through the cleaning and weight process while mummy was put to sleep for the doctor to finish up the surgery.

Finally, presenting me to everyone ... :p

Nice aunties and uncles bought us gift too... isn't it sweet... Mummy says i owe them a kiss when i get older.

37th Week

Mummy made a mistake and told Dr Chan that i am not moving as frequently as usual as she didnt disturb/wake me up to check periodically. This got Dr Chan worried and she gave mummy a slip to monitor my movement for the next 3 days :P. So Mummy got to wake and coax me to move every hour for the next few days... so exciting...

36th Week

Daddy was down with flu and fever just before the national day long weekend and was unable to accompany us to this week's appointment. As a precaution not to spread the illness to me n mummy, he self-quarantine himself in our guest room till he recovered. Fortunately, we did not fall ill and daddy recovered in time for NDP so i still get to play with him for a day :)

At the gynea, Dr scanned me and did a strepB test on Mummy. I was 2.5kg and Mummy was told that i might arrive in 2 weeks time based on the ageing of the placenta. Dr Chan proceeded to explain the symptoms of labor then issue me an admission letter in case of emergency/delivery.

34th Week

Yeah!! I am now 34 weeks and 2.13kg. Plus, i got baby fats under my skin and cheeks wahhaahaa 2mm :p ...

At present, my heart rate is still beating pretty fast which means i have yet to reach the so-called "mature stage" as a fetus. Not time to see the world and also to meet all my lil friends.

As the days passes, i am growing bigger and spaces for kick and maneuver decreases. Now i can only do slight stretches and shake my butts a little. Can no longer surprise daddy with big kicks when his ear is near Mummy's tummy :p. hehehh i use to do that quite often and daddy will scold me "chow baby"... kekekke but i know he is very happy to be kicked wahahaha.... thats my daddy ... and sometime he will send me "turbulence"*shake mummy's tummy with his hands* in return.

This is my ultrasound this week but my mummy and daddy couldn't make out which part of me its showing. thigh? Anyone knows? Guesses?

I'm a Stemcord Baby

Yesterday, Daddy and Mummy attended a Stemcord seminar at Sheraton Towers and signed me up for it.

For Stemcord, its initial payment was $950(not inclusive of GST) and subsequently, second year onwards, $250(not inclusive of GST) annually. All payment paid fully via the baby bonus account and debited two month after i am born. And if one recommend or know another person who is already banking with Stemcord, both Mummies will enjoy $50 off the next annual fee. Discount are capped at $100 annually and if a particular Mummy recommend more than 2 person per year, the discount will be carried-over to the following year. Mummy know Jie Jie Ariel is with Stemcord and decide to share it with her. So if anyone decided to sign with Stemcord, pls remember to share with me hor :) hehehe. Mummy force me to include the last sentence *blink*

In additional(this event), there was a free year of baby insurance known as Stemshield(UP $50).

Upon sign up, a cord blood collection kit was issued and Mummy have to bring it with her for delivery. She just need to pass to the nurses at the labor ward and after collection, Daddy will call Stemcord for collection at the hospital.

The Stemcord Collection Kit:

Inside the Kit:

Free Gift from the Seminar:

Things to note:

In Summary, what the above is trying to capture is
1. Initial Fee = $950
2. No collection done(Eg Delivery in taxi or overseas etc) => No charges
3. No storage for stemcell(Eg in Low Cell Count(LCC), HIV+, Fungal Contamination) => $600 payable as test and administration are done.
4. To save a person = 10 millon stemcell/kg. Therefore, 500millon SC might be able to save a 50Kg person. Not sure if this point is true so just see see look look ba.

31th week

Just visited Dr Chan again last Thursday and wouldn't be seeing her for the next 3 weeks as Mummy is going to bring me on a trip. I'm pretty excited and nervous as this is the first time i am on a trip as a fetus and yes, i required an approval letter from Dr Chan before i am allowed to go. So i did.

And this is my scan last week. I am now 1.67Kg and the first scan shows my long foot 5cm. While the next scan is a bit blur, think the dr was trying to capture my thigh ba..

This scan shows my 5mm hair on the back of my head floating freely in the amniotic fluid. hehehe

Long time no blog

Someone complain to Mummy that i haven't been blogging lately... Actually not complain, more of comment rather :P keke. My excuse is that I have been rather busy trying to grow bigger in the shortest time possible since this trimester before i see the world.
The truth is i've been lazy lah

Ok i shall update the recent happening at one shot. Here goes :)

Last week, Mummy Angie and Koko Jordan came to visit. It was the first time Mummy Angie drove to our house and Koko Jordan was her assistant issuing speed control instructions at the front passenger seat. Cute right! Hope Daddy will allow me to do so too. On second thought maybe not as i might distract him instead.

Look what Mummy Angie got me!! 2 lovely rompers and its pink... So sweet right ...

My grandma also bought me a mattress on the same week. See ... should be very comfortable and it has got good reviews in the forum. Its made of full latex and very cool to sleep on.

Motherhood Fair 04-07 June 09

After chatting with Caleb Mummy, Mummy decided to buy newborn diaper cos Caleb Mummy says the poo poo will drop out if the diaper is too big. So she got this while visiting the motherhood fair last week even though she hopes to buy Pampers NB. Not to worry, i think she will still get it when she sees a promo.

Promo@Fair: Buy 2 get a romper free

Phiss... tell u all something my mummy very silly. She saw this game selling at 5 bucks@ John Little Expo Sale then she thought maybe the game dated so they are selling it cheap. Never did it came across that the game was incomplete(Lack of one yellow chip). Actually, quite poor thing also lah :P

A sneak at daddy's & my new toy

Let's take a peak at my new gadget as well as my daddy's. Probably his toy will be mine next time if it is still in working condition... Or i might not even like it cos the toy is so boy boy one.

Daddy's =>

Mine => Daddy buy one. It is so cool got music and light shooting up the ceiling though you will feel dizzy after a while. But thats the intend ba to make me go to sleep.

Silly Robinsons gave my daddy a kid's puzzle FOC. Dunno when it will come into use. haiz.

Slow start to the week .... esp after a 'fantabulous' staycation :(

Heloo babe,
It's been a while since daddy posted anything. So for keepsake, daddy will tell you what we did over the weekend.

The deluxe king panoramic room without panoramic view :P

Daddy and Mummy stayed at the Pan Pacific Hotel over the weekend from 6-7 June. Wow, mummy was noted as a VIP of the hotel, daddy IS a little jealous ... if not very super jealous. muahahah .... to the extend everytime daddy ringed the room service, they'd greet 'Afternoon Ms Tan!' haiiii :P

Of cos, a staycation would never be fantastic as the one we had without a fabulous dinner, some loot from shopping and idylic soaking in the sun beside the pool!

Here's the brief itinerary,
1pm - checked in, greeted at front desk, someone led us to our room. offered 4pm late checkout yay!
2pm - checked out the room, discovered the superb AV connections to the TV, everything from hdmi, ipod audio, AV connections all in one hidden console ... cool ... techie heaven!
3pm - went looking around for lunch, settle for billy bombers ... we REGRETTED. Nuff said.
4pm - shopped at Robinson's sale, in short 30mins, daddy mommy snapped up a fisherprice musical mobile, twin pillows and a helicopter! yes a remote controlled one for daddy ... hahah

Many hours later - ... nothing much happened except lots of swimming, dinner, hot tubbing and the works :) looking forward to the next one already :)

Cake given to daddy & mummy from the nice PP folks

Daddy doing a Greg Louganis ... except the splash was SO bad :P

First mail that dropped from PP folks

27th week

Finally, we are progressing towards the third trimester.
Its the June holidays and our gynea will not be around next week, i suppose she must be going on a holiday with her kids. So our appointment was brought forward to this afternoon at 5pm.
As usual, there were the routine checks on Mummy's urine, weight and blood pressure before the actual consultation. Compared to our last consultation a month back, Mummy's weight remains constant at 59kg and this raise eyebrows on both the gynea and her assistant. During the consultation, Dr Chan probe Mummy as to why she did not gain weight. She asked mummy whats her secret. Errr... Mummy and i was like rolling our eyeballs over and thinking "Dr, are u implying that Mummy is on diet?" How can that be possible without my knowledge. Getting no definite answer, she continues saying as long as i am gaining the right weight then it shouldn't be a problem. Luckily, i am now 1.2kg so everyone was relieved :)

Sorry, not able to show my latest ultrasound as our scanner is down. Sob sob... Daddy can you quickly find a solution... pls pls :)

Yeah, Daddy fixed the scanner problem. Here's my latest ultrasound pix :)

Mummy's loot from Isetan .... All mine except one..

Mummy brought me shopping from 1pm-5pm last thurs. We went to Isetan's Private Sale and bought so many things for me. Daddy love to but couldn't join us as he was extremely busy at work lately. No worries Daddy :) Mummy and i understand.
We spent about 400 buck on all these and of course, Daddy is the sponser

This is a present for Ko Ko Lele(Aunty Phyllis's son) for his first birthday this coming 31 May 2009. This toy is so cute, i also like it !!!! Mummy, can i have it too when i grow up?? Pls ...
I'm sure daddy n mummy will buy for me i just need to remind them when i am older *blink blink*

24th week

Can you see my fingers? Dr Chan says my fingers are long and approximately 2 cm in length. I am currently about 600g in weight and Mummy is shocked to know that she has increase 9kg of weight since her initial weight. Gosh!

Oh yes, at weeks 21, i am beginning to exercise within Mummy's tummy. I started off with some simple stretching of arms and legs and my silly Mummy didn't know it was me until i gave her a strong kick one day. Thereafter, Daddy and Mummy have been monitoring my routine and asking me to kick and punch to make sure i am alright.Sometime i ignored their calls and pretend to be asleep as i am simply too tired to move.
